This Privacy Policy explains how Precision Body Lab collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information and health information in connection with its services, website, bookings, enquiries, gift card purchases and related communications. Precision Body Lab aims to handle personal information openly and transparently and in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws.

What information is collected

  • medical, health, exercise and screening information

  • appointment, booking, payment and transaction details

  • gift card purchase and redemption details

  • communications with Precision Body Lab by email, phone, website form or other channels

  • technical and usage information relating to website visits and online interactions

 

Precision Body Lab generally collects information directly from the individual, including when a person:

  • makes a booking

  • purchases a scan, package or gift card

  • completes a form, waiver or screening questionnaire

  • requests information

  • subscribes to marketing updates

  • contacts Precision Body Lab

Why information is collected

Precision Body Lab may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:

  • provide services, bookings, reports and customer support

  • assess service suitability, safety and readiness for scanning or related services

  • communicate about appointments, reminders, reschedules, cancellations and follow-up

  • process payments, refunds, credits and gift card transactions

  • send reports or results to the client and, where authorised, to their doctor, trainer or other nominated recipient

  • improve services, workflows, website performance and customer experience

  • maintain business and clinical records

  • comply with legal, regulatory and professional obligations

  • send marketing communications where permitted by law and consistent with any consent or opt-out preferences

  • create aggregated or de-identified insights, case studies or materials where individuals are not reasonably identifiable

 

Health information and consent

Health information is sensitive information under Australian privacy law. Precision Body Lab only collects health information that is reasonably necessary for providing services, managing safety, handling bookings connected with health services, or meeting legal obligations.

Where required, consent is obtained before collecting or using health information. Where direct marketing involves health information or other sensitive information, Precision Body Lab will only do so with the relevant consent or as otherwise permitted by law.

 

Website, cookies and analytics

When a person visits the Precision Body Lab website, certain information may be collected automatically, such as browser type, device information, pages viewed, referring pages, approximate location information, session information, and other technical or usage data.

  • payment processors and booking or software providers

  • doctors, allied health providers, trainers or other persons nominated by the client

  • insurers, auditors, professional advisers or regulators

  • government, law enforcement or other bodies where disclosure is required or authorised by law

 

Precision Body Lab does not sell personal information.

 

Where service providers handle information on Precision Body Lab's behalf, reasonable steps should be taken to ensure those providers handle information appropriately.

 

De-identified information

 

Precision Body Lab may use aggregated or de-identified information, including de-identified body composition trends, charts, graphs, case examples or educational material, for service improvement, education, marketing or research. Precision Body Lab aims to remove direct identifiers before using such information.

Storage and security

 

Precision Body Lab takes reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps may include secure software systems, restricted access, password protection, provider controls and administrative safeguards.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Individuals should be aware that, while reasonable steps are taken, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

 

Access and correction

 

A person may request access to personal information held about them, or request correction if they believe it is inaccurate, incomplete, out of date, irrelevant or misleading.

 

Requests should be sent to hello@precisionbodylab.com.au. Precision Body Lab may need to verify identity before processing a request. Precision Body Lab will respond within a reasonable period and may refuse access in limited circumstances permitted by law. Where permitted, a reasonable administrative fee may apply for access requests.

 

Retention

 

Precision Body Lab may retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for service delivery, legal, regulatory, insurance, dispute resolution, record keeping and business purposes. When information is no longer required, Precision Body Lab will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it where appropriate and lawful.

 

Data breaches

 

If Precision Body Lab becomes aware of an actual or suspected data breach, it will assess the incident and respond in accordance with applicable law, including the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme where required.

 

Complaints

Privacy complaints should be sent first to hello@precisionbodylab.com.au with enough detail to allow the issue to be investigated.

If the issue is not resolved, a complaint may be made to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

 

Changes to this policy

 

Precision Body Lab may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version published on the website will apply from the date of publication.
